Batı Türk Konut ve Yaşlı Hizmetleri Kooperatifi, artan işsizliğe ve buna bağlı konut kıtlığına yanıt olarak, St Albans’ta Türk toplumundan küçük bir grup tarafından Aralık 1986’da kuruldu.
Üç evden başlayarak, kooperatifin amacı işsiz olan ve / veya yaş veya diğer faktörler nedeniyle düşük geliri olan üyelere uygun fiyatlı konut sağlamaktı.
Kooperatif şu anda 27 ev ve 4 birimi yönetiyor ve Batı Melbourne’daki Türk toplumu için güçlü bir destek sosyal tabanı sağlıyor.
West Turk Housing and Elderly Services Co-operative was established in December 1986 by a small group of people from the Turkish community in St Albans, in response to growing unemployment and associated housing shortages.
Starting with three houses, the co-operative’s aim was to provide affordable housing for members who were unemployed and/or had low income due to age or other factors.
The co-operative now manages 27 houses and 4 units, and provide a strong support social base for the Turkish community in Western Melbourne.

To provide a sustainable organisation that provides affordable housing for low income households and develop responsible and co-operative tenant self-management amongst its members.
Promote the work of the co-operative as a viable means through which people can live together and manage their own housing and to link with other housing co-operatives to promote and develop the provision of community in Victoria.
